• 1 tablespoon cornstarch 🌽
• 1/4 cup granulated sugar 🍚
For the whipped cream:
• 2 cups heavy cream 🥛
• 1/2 cup powdered sugar 🍬
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 🌿
For the topping:
• Chocolate chips 🍫
• Maraschino cherries 🍒

1️⃣ Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch pans.
2️⃣ Prepare the batter: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add the oil, eggs, vanilla, and whisk. Add the boiling water and stir.
3️⃣ Bake: Divide the batter between the pans and bake for 30-35 minutes. Let cool.
4️⃣ Cherry filling: Cook chopped cherries with sugar and water. Stir in cornstarch mixture to thicken. Let cool.
5️⃣ Whipped cream: Whisk heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
6️⃣ Assembly: Place one cake layer, add cherry filling, and whipped cream. Repeat with second layer, and cover entire cake with remaining cream.
